What Is A First Look?
If you're planning a wedding, there's a good chance that you've been asked about a first look a few times!! They are becoming much more common in the wedding world, so I thought I would dedicate 3 blog posts towards them: what they are, why do one, and your expectations! Buckle up people, were talking about a blog series here! WOOT WOOT!
First things first, what is a first look?
A first look is when the bride and groom decide to see each other before the wedding ceremony. (I know, I know, it's not traditional, and I'll explain why so many brides are STILL making the switch in my next blog post, but for now let's focus on the what.) The groom is brought to a private location, determined beforehand by the photographer and the bride. He waits there while the photographer escorts his beautiful bride to him. When the bride is ready, she simply calls his name and he turns around to see his bride for the first time, free of guests, sharing the special moment between the 2 of them (and a couple photographers, of course). This is usually done about an hour and a half before the ceremony. The couple is able to share as much time as they want together, and then their portraits begin.
So there ya have it, the first look: explained. Tune in tomorrow for the benefits of a first look!!
