Preparing Your Groom For the Engagement Session

It's no secret that guys typically don't LOVE pictures. A lot of brides get really nervous about how their groom will handle the engagement session and being in front of the camera for the first time. Luckily, there are a couple things you can do to help your groom prepare for the engagement session, so that *hopefully* he goes in a little more open minded!

SHOW HIM SLIDESHOWS

Most photographers will have a slideshow or blog where you can see their engagement work. Before the session, show your groom 1-2 different sessions. This makes him realize that this is important to you, which will make him want to do well. This also gives him an idea of what the session will be like and poses that you will go through.

HAVE OUTFITS PLANNED + SHOW UP ON TIME

Having everything planned out ahead of time and leaving plenty of time for travel is the easiest way to keep everyone happy at your engagement session. Running late is stressful and the last thing we want is for you to be stressed and for their to be tension before the session even starts.

NO PRESSURE

Engagement sessions are supposed to be fun! Chances are you won't be experts at first and thats OKAY!! Just try and have fun and enjoy the shoot!

If all else fails, just don't schedule the shoot on a game day... ;) But really, I hope this helps you prepare your groom for your shoot + get images you love!
