Malibu, CA Trip Recap

If you know me, you know that I am addicted to searching for flights... like, every. single. day. A couple weeks ago in my search I scored round trip flights to Los Angeles for $234. (FYI... The app I use is called Skyscanner and it will change your life.) There was a small catch... I had to pack for the whole week in a backpack, but for a small trip to my favorite city it was 100% worth it!

During Matt's classes on Thursday, I was able to head down to the beach, the pier, and walk around Malibu village and gape at things that I can't afford. (California, y'all) Also... Total side note: This city is amazing, at least half of the stores had vintage bikes parked outside of them. Why? I don't know, but I loved it.

On Friday night, Matt and I got to go to Pi Phi formal thanks to his sweet friend MacKenna! Going to formal has been a dream of mine for a while, which is a bad dream for someone who doesn't go to college, but MacKenna made it happen and I am so thankful. We took pictures on the pier and then party bussed it down to Hollywood where formal was being hosted on the 10th floor of the Sunset. It was a trendy, LA venue with concrete walls, exposed pipe, and an outdoor seating area that looked over the city. My inner wedding photographer was gushing over this amazing venue. New goal: Shoot there. ;)

Throughout the rest of the trip we also took a hike to Sandstone Peak, which is the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains, played tons of catch, and watched tons of baseball! (3 Pepperdine games, a fantasy draft, and opening day for the Cardinals)

I am so thankful for welcoming friends in Malibu, which has made this city my second home. :) As usual, I absolutely loved my trip there and I can't wait to make it back there again!
